Diwali, the festival of lights, is the main Hindu festival which is celebrated on Kartik Amavasya.
On the day of Diwali, people clean their houses after waking up in the morning as it is believed that Goddess Lakshmi who is the god of wealth and prosperity gives its blessings to the houses which is clean hence cleanliness is very important on Diwali.
Why is Diwali celebrated
It is believed that on the day of Diwali, Lord Rama of Ayodhya returned after his 14 years of exile.
